Root canal treatments are used to treat an infected tooth or protect a damaged tooth against the chance of infection. We use the treatment when a tooth has been damaged and the vulnerable soft tissues inside the tooth are exposed to bacteria.

How does root canal treatment work?
The root canal treatment is very simple. Under local anesthetic, we drill a tiny hole in the tooth being treated, and we remove all the soft tissue from within the tooth. Then we seal the hole and restore the tooth with a crown.
Aren’t root canals painful?
Not anymore. Although they have a reputation for being painful, with modern technology and techniques root canal treatments are no more painful than having a tooth filled.
If you’re having severe toothaches or one of your teeth becomes very sensitive to heat and cold, it may be vulnerable. Contact our office to book an examination.
